National Gallery of Victoria
Founded in 1861, the National Gallery of Victoria is Australia’s oldest gallery. The gallery is located across two buildings: NGV International and NGV Australia.
NGV International contains an extensive collection of works from Europe, Asia, America and Oceania, with over 16,000 pieces from Europe and 4,000 representing Asia. These international pieces range from European and British paintings dating from 1200 through to the 21st Century to rare treasures from Ancient Egypt, Greece, Rome and the pre-Columbian period.
The Gallery also hosts a wide range of international and local exhibitions, programs and events.
